A Letter From Guadacanal

A letter written 23 September 1942 from Les Skurr, who was at Guadalcanal, to his buddy, Elden Emmons, was printed in the Ontonagon Herald newspaper on 17 December 1942:


As a Marine in the Pacific Theater in World War II, PFC Skurr also mentioned Tulagi Island.
In 1920 Les was the baby of the family:
